Bila Hati Sudah Jemu

Assalamualaikum wbt

Title sikit punya kontroversi. Hehe. Seharian di St Mary’s Hospital, kalau sesetengah kumpulan masalahnya Doc tak sempat ajar, kumpulan aku pula lain cerita, baru aja nak pergi lunch break, ada SHO tarik ajak shadow dia merata-rata, siap ajak pergi End of Life Meeting, tutorials.

Allah!)

Clinical Term

Secara rasminya, kanak-kanak IC3 RCSI telahpun memasuki alam clinical secara total. Dahulunya, diajar teori dan practical berselang seli. Kali ini memang semuanya explore sendiri. St Mary’s Hospital In The Park ialah lokasi pertamaku. As the name suggests, ia memang di dalam taman, Phoenix Park. Encouraging betul. Macam di savana, merentas padang yang berkabut, melihat pemandangan scenic; golden hue of sunrise horizons, lined with foggy grasses. Nampak sekelompok rusa, seratus mungkin, sedang mengerumuni rumput. The last thing you have in mind about stabbing, is being stabbed by a deer. Heh!

(my eyes are half-wide, so I switch the lingo)

Clinical is good. You really have to be proactive. You just have to volunteer, asks and answer questions. You don’t do it, you lose it. Like Dr Amir said to me, “This is the time you make mistakes, not later”. Since I am placed in an Geriatrics-specialised hospital, there’s a lot to appreciate. The abundance of clinical signs, keinsafan tentang hari tua, dan kerinduan pada Tok Wan dan Tok. There’s this one Opah, whom I examined just now, she has Tok’s eyes and smile, and that had made me spending all day thinking about Tok. Huhu. This might be just a beginning, but I think Geriatrics could be the one for me. Malaysia needs more, since currently we have only 9. And I love elderly. Paeds is last on the list for sure. I don’t think I can look at sick children without being emotionally affected. To be honest, my emotion is not even fit to be a doctor.

“The 2000 Census showed that 6.2 per cent, 1.452 million people, were aged 60 or over, but demographic ageing is occurring and, by the year 2020, 9.5 per cent of the country’s population will be aged 60 years and over. In accordance with the United Nations World Assembly on Ageing held in Vienna in 1982, at which the age of 60 years and over was adopted for deliberating issues on ageing, Malaysia has also adopted this demarcation in formulating and implementing plans for its senior citizens.”

-Chapter 4. Ageing in Malaysia A Review of National Policies and Programmes

So far, Malaysia has only 9.

No, I Don’t Want To Be ‘Immuned’

The last thing I want to happen during my career is to be ‘resistant’, sardin and see patients as objects. I was doing clinics, when this one Doc was explaining to us about the patient condition. True, you have to reveal bad news, but please lah, do it in the most positive way. The patient, a Tok Wan aged 87 years old, was looking at him, he seems afraid and a bit devastated. Siapa tak, if your doctor went like this, in front of you, “His heart is failing …..bad prognosis, there was a clear creps on both lungs (and of course, the patient thought it was craps instead of crepitations), and the creps shows … and I can do nothing to ammend that,”. Yes, true, doctor is is highly respected, but it shouldn’t come with the cost of losing your compassion.

Timbalan Presiden

Last Saturday, was shocking for a lot of people. Trust me, I am shocked too. From the very beginning, I didn’t see this coming for me. Allah… It was a difficult coping time for me, but I am trying. InsyaAllah, I will try my best for the term together with the comrades and their spirits.

Fii Kulli Mehnah Minhah. Regard it as a bounty.

I am hoping that the vision I see is the one paved by Allah. I am praying the time that I invest my time in, is the one that will not going to get myself into trouble in Mahsyar. I am hoping that every energy that I used is for the best option I can spend them. And I hope my sleep is no more a routine, but a rest that will refreshen me for another day for Islam.

I am stuffed with Medicine for the whole day, and I went revising some kuliah. And this is the one for the last part, with a good gist that I need to hold long. No, forever.

Hadis Sahih Muslim Jilid 4. Hadis Nombor 1796.

Wallahu’alam

Banyak sungguh benda nak difikirkan. Tiba-tiba teringat satu ayat ni, dari satu lagu favoriteku dahulu.

Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?

    Salam. kak anis.
Hadis tu memang satu peringatan yg sangat baik.. Alangkah baiknya kalau semua pemimpin kita hold to the principle of the hadith kan?

    salam umai. 🙂
hehe. jzkk sangat2 sbb selalu support akak. hadith tu akak rs kalau betul2 dihayati, tak berani org nak makan rasuah, kronisme dan sbgnya. tapi nak buat mcm mana kan, kalau dunia dah melekat di hati, akhirat makin jauh, orang buleh lupa. sbb tu perlu pilih pemimpin yang baik ilmu agamanya.
